Walking Mirrors (A Benefit for the Town of Occidental)

Sunday, June 8 at 6pm

Tickets $25 / $30 Day of show

The Inn at Occidental is pleased to welcome Walking Mirrors to our Courtyard Stage to kickoff our 2025 Sunset Concert Series. We are excited to announce that all proceeds from ticket sales for this event will be donated to the Town of Occidental.

Formed in 2019 by singer songwriter Mark Nelson and lead guitarist/producer Craig Bartock (Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Inductee band HEART), the band has assembled some of the Best Rock n’ Roll All-Stars in the Bay Area.

Delivering a classic but insanely original brand of reflective rock n roll, this Rock n’ Roll Super Group is led by Craig’s ripping guitar riffs and overall musical direction, and Marks carefully crafted story-telling and raw vocals.

The band’s live sets include carefully selected songs from their thirty-piece original catalogue, and a host of synergistic cover songs that just make you feel the way you were meant to feel. “Awesome.” The music is heavily influenced by the pure energy of the Rolling Stones and storytelling and approachability of Tom Petty.

Over the last two years, the band’s “movement” has taken the North Bay live rock n’ roll music scene by storm.  After tearing down the house at all the major Marin venues (Sweetwater Music Hall, Hopmonk Novato and sold-out Rancho Nicasio) multiple times, the band is expanding it’s live performances across the Bay Area.

Walking Mirrors released their second studio album “Nothing Left for Gray” at the end of 2022, three years after cutting their self-titled album back in 2019. Both albums are certain to reflectively “move you.”

In service to our mission, all WM ticket proceeds are donated to local not for profits. We have raised (including sponsorships) over $200 thousand dollars over a two plus year time period. To date, beneficiaries have included Town of San Anselmo’s Live on the Avenue (our largest donations to date), Redwood Credit Union Community Fund (Raised $10k and 25k in 2023 and 2024 respectively) Bridge the Gap CollegePrep, Sweetwater Music Hall, Nicasio Volunteer Fire Department, and Mark Day School.

Sgt Splendor (featuring Eric McFadden & Kate Vargas w/ Angeline Saris and Paulo Baldi)

Sunday, June 22 at 6pm

Tickets $25 / $30 Day of show

The Inn at Occidental is pleased to welcome Sgt Splendor (featuring Eric McFadden & Kate Vargas w/ Angeline Saris and Paulo Baldi) to our 2025 Sunset Concert Series.

Before joining forces, the duo behind Sgt. Splendor were already formidable solo artists, Kate Vargas chalking up acclaim at outlets like NPR, HuffPost, American Songwriter, Rolling Stone and Vice (including praise from the “Dean of American Rock Critics” Robert Christgau); and Eric McFadden amassing an impressive resume including stints on guitar with George Clinton & the P-Funk All Stars, Anders Osbourne, Karl Denson, Stockholm Syndrome, and Eric Burdon & The Animals, plus a slew of solo albums, and session work with everyone from Jackson Browne to The Clash’s Joe Strummer.

“One of the most unique bands to come out of the new millennium is the contrasting duo of Sgt. Splendor. The group consists of singer/songwriter/guitarist/flautist Kate Vargas, and her partner in crime, guitarist/vocalist Eric McFadden (George Clinton & P-Funk, Eric Burdon, Les Claypool, etc)…is this an album for the masses?… yes.  Yet it is even more so an album for the music aficionados who understand and appreciate in-depth, heavy songwriting, wrapped in a blanket of heavy Blues and Rock music that holds its own against anything you can throw at it. ” – Tone Scott / GOLDMINE Magazine 2024

“…In the ten new songs, not only do the amazing vocals and skillful guitar playing of the two musicians complement each other very well, but alt-funk, desert rock and dirty blues also merge seamlessly. Groovy and brooding, mysterious and memorable – this is hot music with cool cover art.” – Dennis / Add To Want-list 2023

Vacation in Beautiful Sonoma County, California

SONOMA WINE COUNTRY – LOVELY AND DIVERSE…

Unspoiled pastoral countryside, dinner beside the California coast, and award-winning Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley wines – all in one county!

Sonoma County is the quintessential wine country — sophistication and class without the attitude and crowds. Here, rolling hills and peaceful country roads weave through family-owned vineyards as well as nationally known wineries. At 1,604 square miles, Sonoma County is much larger than neighboring Napa and offers more diverse activities to enjoy. Relaxed and personal, Sonoma lies closer to the sea and farther from the traffic.

The first home of wine production in Northern California, Sonoma County is also still the nation’s largest producer of quality wine. Distinct wine valleys dot the countryside — Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and the Valley of the Moon — each offering its own flavors and varietals, including many of the world’s best-known labels and appellations.

Most of Sonoma County’s 400+wineries are open to the public for tours and complimentary tastings.

Just an hour north of San Francisco, Sonoma Wine Country is an elegant, but unpretentious, vacation destination. The county’s unspoiled natural beauty — vineyards, towering old-growth redwoods, the Russian River, and the rugged California coastline — are just the beginning. A haven for artists, craftspeople, and chefs, Sonoma County offers so much more than exceptional wine. During your Sonoma Wine Country vacation, visit enjoy shopping in local art galleries, shops, and boutiques, pamper yourself with a massage or spa treatment, and experience some of the best dining in the country.
