Sunset Concert Series - Jerry Hannan (Album Release Party)

Tickets $25

The Inn at Occidental Sunset Concert Series is proud to present acclaimed singer/songwriter Jerry Hannan. This event will celebrate the release of the band’s new album, Waking the Ghosts – Live from Marshall Tavern. Jerry will be accompanied by the same esteemed band that recorded the live album featuring guitarist Erik Smyth, Keyboardist Matt Meblin, bassist Angeline Saris, and drummer JT John.

Jerry Hannan is the founder and leader of the Mad Hannan’s which he launched with his brother Sean Hannan in 1996 with their first album “Madly in Love With You” which became a local cult tradition. A distinguished songwriter, Jerry Hannan wrote and recorded his song, “Society” with Pearl Jams Eddie Vedder, which is featured in Sean Penn’s film “Into the Wild”.

Described as “shades of Dylan and John Prine …very Americana with a faint Irish lilt”, Hannan’s songs (like those of Springsteen, Steve Earle and Cat Stevens) speak of our everyday lives and the magic that we sometimes miss. He’s a storyteller, known for his thought provoking lyrics and exuberant performances. He has been called a Marin County treasure, often funny, sardonic in a good-natured way, highlighting issues like ecology, friendship, and love.

Sunset Concert Series - Tim Hockenberry and the 559

Tickets $25

The Inn at Occidental Sunset Concert Series is proud to present Tim Hockenberry and the 559.

Tim Hockenberry is a multi-instrumentalist (piano, bass, trombone, vocals), songwriter as well as a gifted interpreter of well-known cover songs.

Tim gained national fame when he performed and made it to the semi-finals (last singer standing) on America’s Got Talent in 2012. He was a favorite of judge Howard Stern.

Tim Hockenberry’s voice is reminiscent of Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, and Tom Waits, but you only need to hear a few bars of Hockenberry singing “I Left My Heart In San Francisco” to understand that this is an artist who has a refreshingly authentic approach to great songs.

He has shared the stage with performers such as Bonnie Raitt, Steve Miller, and Robert Cray and has established himself as one of the most compelling and important artists in the Bay Area music scene.

In addition to touring with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and with Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, Tim has performed at high-profile venues all over northern California, such as The Fillmore, the Great American Music Hall, Bimbo’s 365 Club, The Napa Valley Opera House, the Rrazz Room, the Luther Burbank Center for the Performing Arts and the 142 Throckmorton Theater. He has also headlined at a multitude of festivals including the Robert Mondavi Summer Concert Series, the Clearwater Jazz Festival and the Mill Valley Arts Festival.

“What a breath of fresh air you are. It was moving, and you’re different, and I love you!”

“This was the most moving performance we’ve had from a singer in a long time. No props, no effects…” Howard Stern

Vacation in Beautiful Sonoma County, California

SONOMA WINE COUNTRY – LOVELY AND DIVERSE…

Unspoiled pastoral countryside, dinner beside the California coast, and award-winning Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley wines – all in one county!

Sonoma County is the quintessential wine country — sophistication and class without the attitude and crowds. Here, rolling hills and peaceful country roads weave through family-owned vineyards as well as nationally known wineries. At 1,604 square miles, Sonoma County is much larger than neighboring Napa and offers more diverse activities to enjoy. Relaxed and personal, Sonoma lies closer to the sea and farther from the traffic.

The first home of wine production in Northern California, Sonoma County is also still the nation’s largest producer of quality wine. Distinct wine valleys dot the countryside — Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and the Valley of the Moon — each offering its own flavors and varietals, including many of the world’s best-known labels and appellations.

Most of Sonoma County’s 400+wineries are open to the public for tours and complimentary tastings.

Just an hour north of San Francisco, Sonoma Wine Country is an elegant, but unpretentious, vacation destination. The county’s unspoiled natural beauty — vineyards, towering old-growth redwoods, the Russian River, and the rugged California coastline — are just the beginning. A haven for artists, craftspeople, and chefs, Sonoma County offers so much more than exceptional wine. During your Sonoma Wine Country vacation, visit enjoy shopping in local art galleries, shops, and boutiques, pamper yourself with a massage or spa treatment, and experience some of the best dining in the country.
